Vishesh | Janma Bhoomi of Lord Krishna and one of the seven Mukti Kshetras, Mathura along with Brindavan and Govardanam are together considered as one Divya Desa. At Brindavan 11 kms from Mathura is a new Rangamandir with Rangamannar, Andal and Garudhazhwar giving darshan. There are Sannidhis for Lord Venkatachalapathy and Bhagwat Ramanuja. As per Sthalapurana, Shatrugna on orders from Srirama defeated and killed Lavarasura(A demon) of Madhu Nagaram and on the banks of Yamuna created the Mathura city in Ardachandra form. After Shatrugna and his descendents, the Yadavas ruled this place. Govardanagiri, the mountain which Lord Krishna lifted with His little Finger to protect the people from Indra is about 13 kms from Mathura. Original temple and Lord on whose praise the Azhwars have sung were destroyed by the foreign invaders. The Dwarakanathji and Mathuranathji temples were constructed at later dates. |

Vishesh | This is one of seven Mukti Kshetras. To protect people from jarasanda, Lord Krishna requested Samudrarajan for space and created Dwaraka through Visvakarma. The place is called Dwaraka as this is the gate for Moksha. Pet Dwaraka(island) is the place where Krishna’s palace was situated. Lord gives darshan here as Dwarakanathji with Lakshmi adorning the Lords Chest. There is separate temple for Rukmini about 4 kms on way to Okha where Krishna married Rukmini. Lord Krishna’s final resting place of a banyan tree can be seen at Palaka. |

Vishesh | This Kshetra is at a altitude of 10,400 ft from mean sea level. Lord Narayana gave TirumMantra Upadesa (Ashakshara Mantra) to Nara in this Kshetra. The temple is on the banks of Alaknanda river. Near the temple is the Taptakunda (hot water Spring). Naranarayana and Neelakanata Parvatams, can be seen from here. The Lord gives Darshan with Thayar(Lakshmi), Garuda, Narada, Udhav Maharishi, Kubera, Nara Narayana. The Moolamoorthy is Salagrama Moorthy. The Lord has taken the place under the Badri Vriksha, the favorite of Mahalakshmi. The Lord gives darshan as Jadaroopi, with Chathurbuja with the lower hands in Yoga Mudra sitting in Padmasana posture. On the rear side, is a temple for Lakshminrisimha. Near the temple is Brahamakapalam where pitrupinda is offered. The temple is closed for 6 months from mid october to April due to heavy snowfall. |

Vishesh | Entire Aranya(forest) is considered as Bhagvan and worshipped accordingly. The original temple on which the Azhwar had sung is not seen these days. A bath in the Gomuki river and Chakra Theertham is considered very holy. Sannidhis for Chakrathazwhan, Rama, Seeta and Lakshmana are on the banks of the river. There is a temple for Vedavyasa at Vyaasakattee on way to Gomuki river. This is the place where Vedavyasa, Sukhabrahma delivered Upanyasa and wrote the epic Sri Mahabharata and Srimad Bhagavatam. On the other side of the town is the Purana Mandir where one can have darshan of Sukha Brahman (with Parrots beak). A little away from here on hillock is a huge idol of Hanuman with Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders . |

Vishesh | As per Sthalapurana, Garuda performed Tapas to have the Darshan of Nrisimha of Vibhavathara. Granting the boon to Garuda, the Lord settled amidst the hills and dense forests in nine different forms mentioned above. Hence this holy hill is called Garudadri, Garudachalam and Garudasailam. It is believed that the Lord killed Hiranyakasipu and saved Prahlada at this Kshetra. As Lord forgetting even the Srivakunta settled here, Mahalakshmi took avatar in the Hunter family and married the Lord and hence called Senulakshmi (Senju – Hunterfolk). There is temple for Prahladavarda at lower Ahobilam. |
